About the Book
This book, Research Priorities in North-East India (with special reference to Assam), attempts to identify the research priorities in a state that has indicated size-able conflict situations. It is also apparent that if such an effort is indeed made, it will pave way for a better understanding of the problems facing the state and per-haps add to the competence in resolving as much of the conflicts as possible. Above all, the present attempt is an effort to place these research priorities in a contemporary perspective and as an alternative to the all too common approach to the problems of the state.
