About the Book
In view of the National Policy on Education and the various proposals and developments emerging out of it to improve the quality of education, a great need has been felt to bring out a book which would make some contribution in this field. Models of Teaching is an up-to- date, yet comprehensive text/reference book for students and teachers of Education at all levels, i.e., B.Ed., M.Ed., M.A. and M.Phil. For the convenience of readers the book has been divided into five chapters, each dealing with distinctly different aspect. The First Chapter deals with concepts, principles of teaching and models of teaching. Different, widely used models of teaching and families of models are described. In Chapter Two, the rationale emphasizing the need for, and the nature of models of teaching are discussed. Different approaches in building models of teaching are also suggested. The Fifth and concluding Chapter deals with various aspects of the issues in building models of teaching.
